Solar Incentives and REBS

STCs (Small-Scale Technology Certificates):
Think of STCs as a discount voucher on the cost of installing your solar system. The size of your system, where you live, and the number of STCs you are eligible for are all factors that determine how much of a solar incentive you will receive.

The STCs are issued and redeemed for a dollar value (aka your solar incentive) that is then deducted off the cost of your solar system. The value of an STC at any one time depends on market conditions. Different areas of Australia receive different amounts of STCs depending on which zone the location falls into.

The best thing is Perth Solar Force sorts all this out for you. Your STCs will be sorted by us, and your solar incentive comes right off the top of your total upfront cost of your solar system! Easy Savings.

Solar Incentives:
Right now, the Federal Government is running ‘The Solar Credits Program’. The Solar Credits program is part of Australia’s Renewable Energy Target. Under this initiative, every megawatt hour of qualifying energy generation is eligible for small-scale technology certificates (STCs).

Feed in Tariff:
Property owners living in Perth and the south-west region of WA can receive a “Solar Feed-in Tariff”. This means customers will get 7.135 cents per kilowatt-hour (accurate as at 18/11/2019) for all extra electricity that is exported back to the mains grid.

This is under Government Initiative of the Renewable Energy Buyback Scheme (REBS).

Regional Prices WA:
Regional areas of WA have feed-in tariffs that range from 7.14 cents to more than 51 cents per kilowatt-hour (accurate as at 18/11/2019), and in other areas, it is not available at all so it really depends on your location!

When your meter is read by your energy provider, they will record the total amount of kWh/units exported from your system and you will see a credit applied to your power bill.
